GoodSeeing is an informational forecast. Accounts exist only for observing alerts, and alert enrollment is explicit.
Location permission localises the sky and forecast. The chosen location is kept in the browser session. Standard infrastructure logs may include IP address, user agent and requested URL for security and reliability. When another site embeds a GoodSeeing forecast card, we retain only a daily count for that site's hostname, the forecast location and embed version—never an individual visitor identifier or the referring page path.
We store the email address, consent time, selected origin, timezone, alert rules, send history and delivery events needed to operate the service. Authentication is passwordless; raw sign-in tokens are never stored.
Cloudflare runs the site, database and queue. Resend delivers operational email. A Hetzner server independently monitors service health and samples public satellite cloud products. With your permission, Google Analytics measures aggregate visits and interactions; optional Google data sharing, advertising signals and automatic form tracking are disabled. MET Norway supplies forecasts; NASA POWER supplies the long-range climate baseline. GoodSeeing does not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising profiles.
Optional educational videos load directly from ESO’s media CDN only after you press Play. That request sends your network address to the media provider. There is no embedded advertising player or automatic video download.
Every alert email includes one-click unsubscribe. Signed-in users can download their data or request deletion. Deletion pauses alerts immediately and permanently removes the account after a 24-hour cancellation window.
Some equipment links are paid affiliate links to Amazon US. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Following a retailer link leaves GoodSeeing; the retailer receives your network information and referral details and may use cookies or similar technology to attribute qualifying purchases under its own privacy notice. GoodSeeing does not embed Amazon shopping scripts or pixels. With your analytics permission, we count equipment-link clicks using only a product identifier and retailer or manufacturer label; we do not send your alert email, precise location or search text. You may request access, correction, export or deletion through the alert account controls or by contacting hello@goodseeing.com. Complaints and hard bounces stop alert delivery automatically.
